Sunday Satsang 26 October 2008: Lord Caitanya’s Pastimes

Posted in Esoteric Teaching, Podcasts, Sunday Satsangs at 9:22 am by David Bruce Hughes

In this third Satsang from Chile, we talk about Lord Caitanya’s beautiful ecstatic pastime of revealing Himself to be the Supreme Personality of Godhead relishing the bliss of being a devotee. These stories are narrated in Śrī Caitanya-bhāgavata by Śrīla Vṛndāvana dāsa Ṭhākur. The point is that Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu appeared to teach the highest stage of devotional service, rasa-tattva, by His personal example, to establish once and for all the actual standard of pure devotional service. One is not qualified to be a guru until he attains this stage of spontaneous devotional love for the Lord.

Evening Darshan 20 October 2008: Secret Project Y?

Posted in Darshan, Esoteric Teaching, Podcasts at 9:19 am by Nava-yauvana dāsa

In this evening darshan we discuss the scope of our mission and reveals some of the concepts we have been working on recently. We jokingly call them “secret projects,” but really they are just new ideas that are not mature enough to discuss publicly. We have several of these “secret projects,” and what is so funny in the beginning of the conversation is that we can’t remember which is which!

The scope of our mission is nothing less than the continuation of the lineage of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Śrīla Prabhupāda gave many important instructions that were ignored by his independent-minded disciples. If we can fulfill those instructions, we will go down in history beside Śrīla Prabhupāda as his most sincere disciples. The future of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement literally depends on us.

One of our breakthrough ideas is that we do not have to depend on public fund-raising, book sales or charity to fund our preaching. We can use investments strategies instead. When a new devotee joins our community, if they donate the cost of one futures contract, that will fund their maintenance indefinitely. This enables us to make a lifetime commitment to take care of the devotees that come, unlike other organizations that demand unconditional surrender but then reserve the right to kick devotees out at any time.

Sunday Satsang 19 October 2008: Structure of the Esoteric School

Posted in Esoteric Teaching, Podcasts, Sunday Satsangs at 10:41 am by Nava-yauvana dāsa

In this second Satsang from Santiago we begin with a nice kīrtan, and then discuss the structure of the Esoteric School in terms of the Exoteric, Mesoteric and Esoteric Circles. The Consciousness of the student changes in very predictable ways as he goes step-by-step through the levels of the Esoteric Teaching. Also the methods of the Esoteric Teaching differ in the different circles. The presentation may adapt to the changes in society but the Absolute Truth is always the same. And the aim of the Esoteric Teaching is always to revive our original consciousness and relationship with Kṛṣṇa.

Evening Darshan 16 October 2008: Human Religion, etc.

Posted in Darshan, Esoteric Teaching, Podcasts at 4:44 pm by Nava-yauvana dāsa

In this Darshan we begin from the origins of man-made religions like Mormonism and Islam versus revealed religions such as Christianity and the Vedic tradition. We also discuss how God responds to prayer by sending teachers, how to extend our teaching and adapt our presentation to changing conditions in society, and why a vegetarian diet is required for understanding transcendental philosophy. The discussion further moves on to the secret of increasing intelligence by purifying the tongue, the problem of evil and neglecting the rascals, attaining liberation by accidental devotional service, how the demigods incarnate along with Kṛṣṇa and the coming Golden Age of Lord Caitanya.
