Dear Disciples, Students and Friends,August was another busy month, with lots of classes. Butsince the middle of the month we are takinga break and not doing any publicpresentations. Why? Well, everybody needs a break sometimes,especially after presenting more than 200 hours of class time in the last six months—all of it documented on videoon our site.
But there’s more to it than that. Our experience over the last few months, presenting the core Vedic teachings and general spiritual practices to the public, has taught us a lot. We found that few people today have heard of the Vedas, and even fewer understand the necessity and importance of pure
spiritual teaching and lifestyle. Plus we have found it difficult to motivate people to practice chanting and other Vedic spiritual practices over a longer period of time. Unfortunately, the Esoteric Teaching is simply too advanced for most people today; it’s a cultural problem.
So we have made a strategic decision to refocus our public promotion and spiritual education program on Jyotish, or Vedic astrology. Many people accept astrology, and thus Jyotish can be a way to introduce people who are not yet ready to practice the pure spiritual lifestyle to the advanced
concepts of Vedic thought. Then by experiencing the power and deep insight of Jyotish, they will naturally want to know more about Vedic philosophy, culture and spiritual lifestyle. So welcome to our new project:

Brhad Parasara Hora Sastra is a long, complex Sanskrit work, so although we are working hard on it every day, the course will take a substantial amount of time and effort to develop. But soon it will enable us to resume our public presentations with an intro course on Vedic Astrology that we are certain will be even more popular and successful than our previous offerings. In August stats increased again; as you can see from the graphs below, they are substantially higher than in July. We attribute this increase to the very successful “2012: Matrix Singularity” promotion on our YouTube channel. In July and August, we posted over 50 short videos taken from recent classes, and reached over 45,000 views. This traffic in turn fed new visitors to our website, and many of them registered as students (which, of course, is the whole idea). We now have a total of 104 videos and over 130 video subscribers on YouTube, over 140 subscribers to this newsletter, and 125 registered students on our course site.
